Phil S. Willis

President

Phil was born and raised in Grass Lake, MI on his family’s farm on Willis Rd. Phil earned a BA in Economics from Albion College and continued study at the University of Michigan. As a C.P.A. for the past 50 years, Mr. Willis has dedicated his time and energy in many community projects, enhancing the lives of others.

Some of the community projects are, Grass Lake Depot, Grass Lake DDA, Lost Railway Museum, EDC of Jackson County, Enterprise Group of Jackson, Exchange Service Club of Jackson, Jackson Alliance for Business Development, Jackson Area Estate Planning Council, Jackson County March of Dimes, and Jackson Symphony Orchestra.

Always practicing his motto of “Do your share and a little bit more”, Phil continues to lead efforts to elevate his community. He and his wife Pat created a private foundation which seeks to fund organizations that help create economic and social development in Jackson County. His business focus today with Willis & Jurasek, CPA’s is business consulting and strategic planning with clients.

Other notable accomplishments include: Jackson County Chamber of Commerce - Entrepreneurial Vision Award Recipient, Distinguished Citizen – Great Sauk Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America-2003, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants – 2003 Community Service Award, Michigan Chamber of Commerce – 2001 Blue Chip Business Leader, U.S. Small Business Administration – 2000 National Accountant Advocate of the Year & 2000 Michigan Small Business Person of the Year, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce – 1999 Local Small Business Person of the Year, Sam Walton Business Leader Award – 1999, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants – Member, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants – Member, JA Presidents Award 2015, and Entrepreneurial Vision Award – MI Works 2013.
